I don’t really understand this bit of casting set against the backdrop of actors feeling the need or being politely asked to publicly apologise as of late for being cast in a role where the ethnicity of said role (or physical ability of said role) is different to their own.
You can argue this is addressing some of the past imbalance in this area and diversity should always be applauded, but I’m not sure two wrongs make a right.

Was listening to Talk Radio and a female guest was arguing that the girl got the part because she was the best actress for the part. If you go by the "she is a good actress" argument then you have to ask why has Henry Cavill, who plays a perfectly decent Superman, allegedly been shoulder barged out of the part so it can be cast next time around to a black actor?

Yep, it's completely cynical. Either they're deliberately causing outrage to boost ratings or they're purposely aiming for a certain demographic. Based on Channel 5's usual output I guess they target the younger generation, who are more likely to go for the woke stuff.

The production company behind this are unashamedly woke and are billing this as very much a FEMINIST production concentrating on the view of A Boleyn more than the traditional story which is more about the MASS MURDERER Henry VIII
I am guessing part of the black casting (with Henry played by a white man) is just cranking up the victim status of the female Queen.
And showing the dark heart behind the nonsensical 'Royal family' that still perpetuates their disgraceful REIGN OF TERROR

There have been a lot of white people playing blacks and other ethnics over the years. These days when it happens there is usually a massive load of outrage over it, like when Joseph Fiennes played Michael Jackson 4 or 5 years ago or Angelina Jolie putting on an Afro wig.
Luckily it's only wokey liberal types who get up in arms about this sort of stuff. You won't see any adverse reaction to this Anne Boleyn thing at all. Oh...

Interesting. The best actor to play a white person is black. That's unconvincing, or rather it's just palpable nonsense.
The only other question that raises is the one posted frequently below — why is it that this only ever seems to be in one direction, white ethnicity being replaced by black? Oh, I get it now, black actors are better.

Apparently the black actor was cast because she was the best actor for the role, according to the producer. More likely, given that it's Channel 5, they knew it would boost their ratings, mainly among people who wouldn't usually watch boring historical shit like that but just love to be outraged.

I'm mystified about the motives behind the deliberate deceit of switching a white person's ethnicity to black in historical pieces?
Assuming it's not because of any shortage of white actors, what is achieved by wilfully misrepresenting history? Is it so we get so used to black faces on TV it rewrites history for gullible people, so they're duped into accepting that there's always been immigration and it's normal?
Or maybe it's just deliberately to bait white people, in which case, why?

That clip looks proper shit but it's a sitcom so maybe some people are taking it a bit more seriously than they ought to. In context maybe it makes sense, ie the 2 hairdressers are supposed to be cunts who treat all their customers like shit. Probably not though.
It's an American series by the way, not English. Set in Portland, Oregon, which some say is the woke capital of the world. Maybe it's taking the piss out of the whole thing. Probably not though.

Just watched that clip, I’m not sure what it’s about, but is the 'joke' in it about a black person living in Britain and speaking with a clear British accent, seeking to tell an American off for trying to copy another Race's culture?
I never watch these sorts of programmes, they’re deliberately historically inaccurate in an 'in your face' type of race baiting, daring the older generation to bite, whilst simultaneously brainwashing the younger viewers who don’t know any better.
